Stream Deck plugin privacy

This policy covers Creative Controls, the 16 independent Control Suite plugins and Civilization VII Game Control Suite. It explains their local settings, technical logs and connections to Stream Deck, applications and external websites.

Blender Studio Control Suite

Blender Studio Control Suite is an exception to the general shortcut-based Control Suite description: it uses a companion extension and authenticated local TCP.

  • The plugin opens a TCP server bound to 127.0.0.1 on a dynamic port. The extension connects only after local connection permission in Blender and authenticates with a token stored in the user profile. It does not use Blender-Codex or its development port.
  • Blender version, instance and document identifiers, project name and path, selection, mode, selected properties, results and errors are exchanged locally to run controls and display state. The plugin has no accounts, first-party analytics, telemetry or remote service. Help links open the browser when used.
  • Stream Deck stores each action’s settings, including configured scripts and destinations. Local logs may contain diagnostics and operation names. Python approvals are kept in memory and invalidated when another file loads or the extension is disabled.
  • Advanced Python is initially disabled. An exact approved script runs with Blender’s permissions and may access files or the network according to its own instructions. It is not sandboxed. Importing a script does not run it automatically.
  • Disable Allow local Stream Deck connection or the extension in Blender to withdraw access. Use Revoke all Python approvals and disable advanced Python to remove script permission. When disabled, the extension removes sockets, timers, handlers and subscriptions.

DaVinci Resolve Studio Control Suite

Stream Deck stores functions, shortcuts, settings and imported presets locally. The importer retains relevant command identifiers, bindings, file name and hash, not the entire preset text. Python, SDK, DRX and render paths stay on the computer. Optional Studio integration uses Python and standard process input/output to reach the local API; it can read project, timeline and clip names, timecode and render jobs. It does not enable network scripting, install scripts in Resolve's library or send audiovisual content or project data to third parties. No Blackmagic accounts, cloud, first-party analytics or telemetry. Review names and paths before sharing diagnostics with support. Remove actions or profiles in Stream Deck to remove their settings.

ARC Raiders Game Control Suite

Stream Deck stores the function, language, bindings, manual timer and checklist locally. The Windows helper uses standard process input/output and sends only input explicitly enabled per key, with the game in the foreground. It does not read game memory, inventory, quests, screenshots or general keyboard activity. No accounts, advertising, remote data service, first-party analytics or telemetry. Local technical logs are never uploaded automatically. Steam, Windows mixer and official Embark links open external destinations with their own privacy policies. Delete actions or profiles to remove settings; review logs before sharing them with support.

Creative Controls: local operation

All eight Creative Controls plugins operate locally. Stream Deck retains each action’s settings, and the plugin uses them only to perform the requested action.

  • Sends the locally configured shortcut to the operating system.
  • Can open or focus the selected creative application.
  • Uses no first-party analytics or telemetry, accounts, or Adobe credentials.
  • Opens no ports, uploads no files, and collects no documents or creative content.

Covered products: Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom Classic, Audition, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro.

Control Suite: 12 independent plugins

Control Suite processes the shortcuts, labels and settings you configure for each action locally. Stream Deck stores those settings. The plugin does not send documents, creative content, telemetry or analytics to LaboratorioSD.

  • To open or focus the application, it checks permitted processes and local installation data. To execute controls, it sends the configured shortcuts to the operating system.
  • It connects to the local Stream Deck WebSocket and does not expose its own HTTP server.
  • Game launchers pass a fixed launch URI to the installed Steam client. Steam and the applications or games opened have their own network activity and privacy policies.
  • Technical logs may include action names, local paths and error details. Do not enter personal or confidential information in button labels.
  • Help links open at the user’s request and are governed by the destination website’s policy. When requesting support, remove private documents, credentials and personal data from screenshots and logs you share.

Covered applications and games: Final Cut Pro, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, REAPER, Cubase, Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Figma, Obsidian, Notion.

No LaboratorioSD account required

The plugins do not require registration, login or a LaboratorioSD account.

  • The plugin does not collect email addresses.
  • The plugin does not collect credentials.
  • The plugin does not collect saves, progress or personal statistics.
  • The plugin does not send external telemetry.

No local HTTP server

The plugins use the Stream Deck SDK. Civilization VII Game Control Suite also keeps a local copy of its settings.

  • They connect to the local Stream Deck WebSocket.
  • They do not run a local web server.
  • Civilization VII Game Control Suite 1.0 does not use the former port 58923.
  • Settings remain in the user profile.

The settings.json path below applies only to Civilization VII Game Control Suite. Creative Controls and Control Suite store per-action settings through Stream Deck.

Some actions open external links in your browser.

  • Steam to launch installed games.
  • Civilization/2K for glossaries or documentation.
  • LaboratorioSD for plugin support and information.
  • Network Ping sends an ICMP request to 8.8.8.8 when you press the action.

Website analytics

The website may use website analytics, always separate from what the plugin does.

  • Website analytics do not mean plugin telemetry.
  • The plugin does not send usage events to LaboratorioSD.
  • The website cookie consent applies only to the website.

How to reset Civilization VII settings

  1. 1 Quit Stream Deck completely.
  2. 2 Delete settings.json from your system path.
  3. 3 Open Stream Deck again.
  4. 4 Configure your custom shortcuts again.
