Keys run configured actions. Organize shortcuts into pages and folders before deciding how many physical keys you need. A shortcut only works if the application supports it and has the required focus.

Try compatible actions on your current device and organise pages and folders first. You do not need a different model if yours already covers your tasks.
Dials add rotation and press input. The plugin must provide compatible Encoder actions; a dial does not turn every shortcut into a continuous adjustment or add features to the application.
- List the actions you repeat and count how many you need visible at once. Try pages and folders first. More physical keys may help if you constantly switch pages.
- Separate commands from adjustments. Save, undo and tool selection fit keys. To change a value by turning a dial, confirm a specific dial action and check its behavior.
- Check the result in a test document. Keep the application focused, avoid active text fields and verify your keyboard layout. A shortcut that fails on the keyboard will also need fixing here.
Before buying
Documented plugin requirements: Stream Deck 6.9+, Windows 11+ or macOS 13+, installed Photoshop and compatible shortcuts. Adobe software is not included. Read installation and configuration before buying hardware.
Check the operating system, Stream Deck version, application and each plugin’s requirements. Dial actions need a device with dials; key compatibility does not guarantee every feature.
